Написание качественной магистерской диссертации полноценно охватывающей все разделы проведенного исследования, основной работы, анализа и апробации результатов является сложной и комплексной задачей, ежедневно с различным успехом решаемой множеством студентов по всему миру.
К сожалению, изучение существующей литературы [1, 2], посвященной тематике написания диссертационного исследования, указывает на отсутствие материалов описывающих практический опыт применения различных методов и инструментов, позволяющих не только оптимизировать работу над диссертацией, но и улучшить качество конечного результата.

Donetsk team educates colleagues to use online tools for learning
Members of the Donetsk team were teaching their colleagues from the Deparment of International Relations and Foreign Policy of the Donetsk National University, how Internet can enhance learning.
During the Department meeting, we presented the Department's new blog, which was created in the summer, and pages in social network. Some basic tools which could be of use for blended learning were presented. New equipment, purchased within the project - demostrated and tested.

2. A very useful resource developed by the University of Portsmouth to help students and reserachers cite and reference correctly. Focusses on Havard APA v6, Oscola and Vancouver referencing 'styles' http://referencing.port.ac.uk/

Virtual research environment programme : JISC

With delight I digested an article (unfortunately in German) sent to me by
a colleague who is Librarian. The topic are so called "Virtual research
environments - VREs" see also

This topic suits very well to the first phase of our project addressing
"everything that helps young researchers". In part the issue is addressed
by the platform for information retrieval and management
www.recherchieren-im-internet.ch to be translated in Russian soon. Note
however also the strong focus of VREs on collaboration and coordination
using Web 2.0 tools (Blogs, Wikis, Project Management platforms like
Teamlab/ Zoho/ Basecamp etc). So exactly the tools we looked at in the
last weeks.
Related to information retrieval for resachers note also the trend towards
"discovery tools" like eg http://konstanz.summon.serialssolutions.com/en/
You put your topic in the the "search slot" and get most of existing
scientific articles, books out. Although this discovery tools are
mushrooming a fundamental problem remains - as user you usually have no
clue which databases etc the tools themselves use. Also you have no clue
which algorithm is used for ranking the results. However, it could also be
argued that this is not really a problem - meanwhile it seems impossible
to track all of the literature published even on a very small area of
research. Maybe we have to say goodbye to the idea that we manage to deal
with "all" literature even if we focus only on a small research topic ...

Why it is worth getting to know Google Tools
An interesting news just came. In Germany usage of smartphones related to brands looks like that (from the source below):
- 24 % Samsung,
- 22,4 % iPhones
- 21,6 % Nokia
- HTC (10,5 %),
- Sony (8,2 %) and
- Blackberry RIM (2,8 %).

re:publica started as a small meeting of Bloggers (people that write
blogs) in 2007 and became, as far as I know, the biggest conference on all
kind of internet-issues in Germany.
Eu Commissioner Neelie Kroes attended and informed that 41% of Italian
citizens still have no experience with the internet (source
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/re-publica-Res-gestae-stationae-1568843.html).
I am wondering what the figures in Eastern Europe are.
In any case it can be seen that the question how internet (with it
ubiquitous computing i.e. "always online" as realised with the smartphone
boom) effects our societies is increasingly on the (research) agenda.

resulting in huge confusion of the participants. They just were cut off.
Interestingly it seems not too many people had prepared a fall back
solution. Lessons Learned - when applied in teaching make sure you still
have a piece of chalk in the pocket...

Плейбек театр на службе образования
Вы еще не слышали о Плейбек театре?
Я сама о нем узнала где-то полгода назад на конференции по психологии. Но моя сфера интересов не ограничивается только психологией. Поэтому все, что я там узнала об этом виде театра, я перенесла в сферу обучения. Это был очень позитивный опыт. Участники тренинга смогли лучше прочувствовать ситуацию, а значит и понять ее.

Мини-тренинг по майнд-меппингу прошел в Центре политологических исследований со стажерами Центра.В ходе тренинга студенты освоили метод майнд-меппинга, создали собственные карты мышления по темам своих научных исследований, и представив их друг другу, совместно работали над улучшением программы исследований.

Фокус-группа по интернет-образованию в форме парламентских дебатов
В Центре политологических исследований (Донецк) была проведена фокус-группа по теме интернет-образования со студентами Донецкого национального университета и других ВУЗов области. Фокус-группа прошла в необычном формате - парламентских дебатов. Студенты, участвующие в исследовании, дискутировали о государственной поддержки интернет-образования в школах - и высказали некоторые интересные идеи по вопросу.

Сегодня пришлось срочно придумывать, что разместить на месте веб-чата, который исчез в связи с прекращением работы Google Friend Connect.

Для донецкой команды проекта "іTeach SCOPES" в Центре политологических исследований прошел мини-тренинг - мастерская - по использованию новых социальных медиа в образовательных целях.
